MAJOR CHANGES UPDATE - 23RD MARCH 2020
UPDATE FROM MENTAL MUNCHIES OWNERS
If you have ordered before for a home delivery in Glasgow the chances are your order was delivered by myself, Peter, one of the owners of Mental Munchies. The other owner is my wonder partner Lisa-Marie who any day now will give birth to our third son. Due to this we have decided to take some extra precautions. As much as I would like to stop delivering all together just now, we are not in a position to turn away any extra income in light of current times.
Being small business owners it”s a very worrying time both for us and our staff. We will continue to operate as normally as we can until told otherwise. We have already released a statement (below) regarding some changes in-store that have taken place over the weekend, there will be another update by tomorrow morning in more detail. In the mean time, here is the main changes to deliveries in Glasgow. We really hope you can all accept these changes and we all really appreciate the continued support from everyone just now. If we didn’t have so many wonderful customer who continue to come in and support us i think we both would have lost our 💩 by now. 😂😂
Effective immediately, all local home deliveries will be contactless, this means there will be no physical contact between you and the delivery driver. So how does this affect our home deliveries?
- All deliveries must be made online on our website as we will no longer be accepting payments at the door.
- When your order is about to be delivered we will call you to confirm you will be in and able to receive it.
- Your order will then be left at your doorstep and it will be your responsibility to collect the order. Please don’t wait with the door open ready to collect once we call, that would defeat the purpose of all this.
We hope no-one will take any offence from this. As time goes on changes are more and more people will be in self isolation and we have no problem delivering to you if you are! We thought about just asking you to leave a note online by for every 100 people that would do this there’s a chance someone may act irresponsibly and not notify us they are self isolating, or just be unaware, that’s not a risk we are willing to take.
Thank you all for being so understanding
-Peter, Lisa-Marie & The Boys
Here at Mental Munchies we are committed to providing excellent customer service whilst ensuring the safety and well-being of each and every customer that visits our store or that places an order online. We are writing to you to provide you information on what steps we are taking to play our part during this Coronavirus outbreak upon the advice given by the W.H.O and the Scottish Government.
OUR STORES ARE OPEN NORMALLY
We are open normal hours, this may change in the coming days and weeks, we will update you via email, on our website and on social media as soon as any decision is made.
OUR STAFF HAVE BEEN TRAINED
We’ve took the time to give our staff additional training on sanitising surfaces like card machines, door handles and baskets and supplied them with all the necessary tools. We have extra staff on hand to ensure this is completed at least every hour. Additionally we have supplied our employees with hand sanitiser and PPE.
Further to the increased santaisation, we have moved our pick-n-mix and slush packaging away from the public area, you will be given your own individual cup should you require it at the till area. It is likely in the near future we will suspend cash transactions to protect our staff, the current situation does not warrant this action but we expect this to be a sensible approach once the risk level of contacting the virus increases.
REMEMBER TO WASH YOUR HANDS
It comes without saying really but, don’t head to our stores if you are showing any symptoms. We are still offering local home delivery, express and economy postal deliveries. Remember to take the advice of experts; wash your hands frequently, and cover your cough or sneeze. For more information, please refer to the World Health Organization or your local authority.
